Prose fiction : Flash Fiction

New by Asmena Asri             It was my first time in Ipoh, particularly in Methodist Primary Girl School (MGPS) Ipoh for my third and last School-Based Experience (SBE). Everything was different. The environment was different, the people were different. I’ve never been to school which has quite a number of other races other than Malays. Call me feminist but it’s a bonus point for being in an all-girl school. I think I like this place or perhaps I can say that I’m in love with all the cultures.

Ipoh, I'm in love           Ipoh is a very nice place for me. Their classic-designed buildings are very amusing and even the schools are also very vintage in design. I was amazed on how they keep their heritage so well. Ipoh also provides many activities to do and things that I would recommend to people if they’re planning to go to Ipoh are exploring the nature and food hunting.       Ipoh has so many cave temples that are worth to visit. One of the caves that we managed to visit is Kek Lok Tong which is located near to the natural and picturesque area of Gunung Rapat. You’ll definitely be in awe visiting the temple as the cave has some impressive design due to its natural stalactites and stalagmites. The cave temple is about 12-acre site and was used as early as 1920 as a place of worship. This is My Life by Asmena Asri Have you ever feel like breaking down and no one is there for you? Have you ever feel outcasted and no one recognizes you? Have you ever feel like somehow you just don’t belong and no one understands you? Have you ever think of running away? Have you ever think of leaving all your life behind? Have you ever think of locking yourself in your room? With the radio turned up so loud So no one can hear you crying or screaming. Tuning to sad songs because they best reflect your life    Have you ever feel like you’ve been pushed around that you feel like your existence is no longer important Have you ever sick of feeling left out to be on the edge of breaking down Have you ever want to be somebody else so that you can get along like normal people Have you ever stuck in a world you hate faking big smiles and chanting ridiculous lies just to please other people but deep inside you’re bleeding No you don’t kn

Is This My Fault? by Asmena Asri Pain is what I receive, By the name of 'love' I was deceived, Sometimes I wonder why should I grieve, When there's nothing left to be retrieved, Maybe it's time now for you to leave, Because it's my life for me to live, That I was hoping for you to give. All I asked is just your attention, It's like a drug for my severe addiction, Hurt or getting hurt was never my intention, Love and being loved was my only obsession, But things slowly get into complexion, When we no longer walk in the same direction, Being lost in our world of confusion, As if we breathe in two other dimensions, Maybe what we need now is communication, And so does time for some reflection.
